This 1.5 hour workshop is a prerequisite to participate in other Aerial classes.
Come to Intro to Aerial Flow and let yourself flow freely above the ground!!! Aerial Flow is a yoga based experience were you will use a silk hammock suspended from the ceiling as your prop to connect mind, body and breath. The silk hammock will assist and support you throughout class as you move through yoga sequences.
In this workshop you will learn:
1) the benefits of an aerial practice,
2) get comfortable using the silk hammock to support you,
3) learn the ins and outs of aerial to have a safe and fulfilling practice.
For you safety and enjoyment before we play, here are a few requirements we can't waiver from:
*** You must arrive 10 minutes prior to the workshop to allow time for adjusting the hammocks. Doors will be locked at the start of class, If you are late or No-Show you will not be able to participate and will be charged the session.
-You must wear clothing that doesn’t have zippers, Velcro, buttons, or anything that can get caught in the silk.
-You must wear clothing that covers the armpits and back of the knees.
-No lotions or essential oils on your hands and skin 3 hrs prior to class.
-You cannot have anything sharp on the body (including jewelry, body piercings, or nails)
-You will not be able to participate in class if you have (had); recent back or shoulder surgery, recent eye surgery, glaucoma, Botox within 48hrs, recent spray tan, osteoporosis, vertigo/dizziness, severe arthritis, high or low blood pressure, heart disease, recent stroke or are pregnant. Please contact Transitions Yoga if you have any questions or concerns.
-All participants must sign an Aerial Waiver at their first class. If you are under the age of 18 a parent or guardian must sign the Aerial Waiver for you to participate in a class/workshop.
*** SAFETY: For your safety you will not be allowed to participate in class if you have loose clothing, have lotion on, have anything sharp on the body (including jewelry, body piercings, nails) or are pregnant. It is mandatory that all students wear clothing that cover armpits and back of the knees.
Do to the limited number of spaces, you must cancel at least 12 hours prior to class or you will be charged for class.
