Chair Yoga is a modified yoga practice that incorporates
the support of a chair. This class is particularly beneficial to
those not wanting, or not able to, practice yoga on the floor. We
are able to safely explore traditional postures and shapes, and
focus on correct alignment in the body while cultivating a calm
breath.
Time is spent in seated postures, as well as standing with or without the help of the chair. Other yoga props are often included to enhance the practice - blocks, straps, loop bands, Pilates balls, small weights and our own body weight. We build functional strength, mobility, flexibility and stability, while connecting our mind, body and breath.
