Ashtanga yoga is a fixed series of postures moving with a fixed breath manipulation and count. You’ll learn alignment, syncing breath with movement and transitioning through postures, as well as how to utilize your breath to access focus and presence in yoga postures. Moderately paced, but allowing for dissection of alignment and techniques when needed to set up a foundation for all levels of practitioner. Sequences are based on David Swenson’s primary series adaptions as one of the first original Ashtanga teachers in the Western world.
Kat's first 200 hour yoga training was rooted in the practice of Asthanga yoga. She has studied with renown Asthanga teachers David Swenson, David Garrigues and Andrew Eppler. While keeping the soul of Ashtanga yoga, she brings in her continued education in yoga therapy, biomechanics, anatomy and pranayama to bring a depth to the Asthanga practice that serves the individual, instead of fitting the individual to the practice.
