Curriculum Details Building a Foundation for Teaching is about learning to teach to a levels vinyasa class. The training program is rooted in Hatha Yoga in a Vinyasa format. Hatha Yoga uses postures (asana) and conscious breathing (Pranayama) in combination with mental focus to develop awareness, strength and flexibility, and relaxation. This teacher training will combine alignment-based Hatha yoga with vinyasa yoga.
We will cover the following in the training program:
200 HOUR CURRICULUM
75 Hours – Asana Study History of poses – Sanskrit – Study of poses specific to Hatha Vinyasa and alignment – Pranayama – Meditation
30 Hours – Anatomy Study Study of major bones, joints, and muscles of the body as related to asana
30 Hours – Yoga History and Philosophy Study of the Yoga Sutras – Definition of Yoga and Key Terms – Study of the Yamas and Niyamas and the Yogas ethical precepts – Self Reflections
50 Hours - Professional Essentials Teaching Methodology – Sequencing – Pace – Cueing – Class Management – Business of Yoga
PREREQUISITES
If you have not been a practicing student at Providence Power Yoga,
you will be required to take one class with all our faculty
