Based on the Carnegie Mellon Prep School philosophy, The Beginning Piano Program was developed exclusively for The PPS! This innovative program provides comprehensive instruction, a natural approach to piano, fluency in reading and attention to musical detail. The program includes a weekly 30-min group class and 30-min private lesson. Our unique combination of Group + Private instruction introduces concepts in a fun, social learning environment while also offering the personal attention necessary to grow as individuals. Children build a strong musical foundation AND have fun! 

NEW BEGINNER (6 – 7 yrs) 

New Beginner classes are specifically designed for young children with no prior experience. This level relies on 100% parental involvement. You do not need to have musical experience to be helpful! Our user-friendly curriculum assists parents in directing home practice. Parents are also welcome to observe private lessons.

LEVELS 1 & 2A (7 – 9 yrs)

Students enrolled in Level 1 & 2A classes continue with a weekly 30-min group class and 30-min private lesson, but also have additional opportunities to participate in recitals and special events. After Level 2A, students transition into the Academic Year Private Lesson Program or Piano Connection Classes.
