Awareness Through Movement® (ATM®) group classes lead the students through a series of simple movements, building to more complex movements that may not have been possible at the beginning of the lesson. These lessons provide the opportunity for students to attend to their own individual needs and build their own kinesthetic awareness that improves movement and reduces pain and discomfort.
This six-week series is a smattering of The Feldenkrais Method®, designed to bring awareness to your whole self. It will include lessons for improved movement in the hips and pelvis, the neck and shoulders, and the spine. And, we will integrate these improvements for better balance and easier sitting and walking. The classes not only teach us how to sense and move but also how to listen and respond to ourselves, which has a surprising impact on our general sense of security and well-being.
