Sunday December 11 | 11-1p
Our culture and modern lifestyle habits simply do
not support good posture and healthy, happy shoulders. This leads
to a lack of mobility and strength in the shoulders and thoracic
spine, an inability to move functionally, and, often, to chronic
tightness or pain in the neck, shoulders, and back. If you want to
improve your posture and develop more healthy and functional
shoulders, this workshop is for you! It will include:
- Functional movement
screening to assess and guide individual shoulder mobility and
stability needs
- Mobility work to improve
range of motion in the shoulders and thoracic spine
- Exercises to strengthen the
shoulders safely and effectively
- Breath practices to show how
breath affects the shoulders and posture, and simple breathing
techniques to improve posture and feel more energized
This workshop will teach you how to improve the
health and function of your shoulders and to begin the process of
improving your posture for the long term! We will begin with a
functional movement screen to assess individual shoulder mobility
and stability needs – Asymmetries and/or mobility and stability
problems unique to you will be uncovered in the screen. We will
then teach safe and effective corrective exercises to help you
increase both shoulder mobility and strength. Proper breathing
mechanics will be taught and practiced to affect an immediate
positive change to posture and help you get more energy from your
breath.
You will leave this workshop standing up taller,
breathing more deeply, and feeling more strong and free in the neck
and shoulders!
