Discover strength you never even knew you had, and soreness in muscles you never even knew existed. Aerial silks is a modern circus art that combines elements of dance and gymnastics with two long "ribbons" of fabric to create beautiful poses, mesmerizing sequences, and mind-boggling drops. As a beginner, you may have very little knowledge of how to use the silks, or you may never even have seen them before. All you need is a bit of determination and a willingness to laugh along as you and your classmates discover the joy of something completely new.
No experience in aerial silks, gymnastics, dance, or anything related is required for this class. Please wear form-fitting clothes that cover the backs of your knees, your hips, and ideally your armpits. Dangly earrings, necklaces, bracelets/watches, and large rings must be removed. Silks are practiced barefoot, so no special shoes required. You're welcome to wear socks while you're on the ground, but you'll want to take them off once you start working on the fabric.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented special requirements and practices to do the best we can to keep everyone healthy and safe.
Unless it’s an emergency, the instructor will not be providing hands-on spotting.
Only one person is allowed per silk, UNLESS you would like to share a fabric with someone already in your “quarantine bubble.” If you are planning on sharing the silks with someone, only one of you should register for class in advance. The second person will have to check in at the door and pay a reduced $10 class fee. If each of you would like your own silk, you should both register online as usual.
Online preregistration is required for all classes. No walk-in’s will be allowed.
In order to comply with contact tracing requirements, please make sure your phone number is up to date in your Wellness Living Profile.
Masks are required at all times, covering both your nose and mouth. Face shields are not acceptable for aerial arts classes.
Please wash your hands before and after class. We also have hand sanitizer available. Grip spray is no longer provided, but you are welcome to bring your own if desired.
If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness, have been ill within the last 14 days, have tested positive for COVID-19 or been exposed to someone who has tested positive to COVID-19 within the last 14 days, or are waiting on the results of a COVID-19 test, please refrain from entering the studio and attending classes.
Only class participants are allowed in the building. No guests or observers.
Due to the unpredictable nature of our situation, we are only selling drop-in classes at this time.
