Discover strength you never even knew you had, and soreness in muscles you never even knew existed. Aerial silks is a modern circus art that combines elements of dance and gymnastics with two long “ribbons” of fabric to create beautiful poses, mesmerizing sequences, and mind-boggling drops. As a beginner, you may have very little knowledge of how to use the silks, or you may never even have seen them before. All you need is a bit of determination and a willingness to laugh along as you and your classmates discover the joy of something completely new.
No experience in aerial silks, gymnastics, dance, or anything related is required for this class. Please wear form-fitting clothes that cover the backs of your knees, your hips, and ideally your armpits. Dangly earrings, necklaces, bracelets/watches, and large rings must be removed. Silks are practiced barefoot, so no special shoes required. You're welcome to wear socks while you're on the ground, but you'll want to take them off once you start working on the fabric.
