Ka Lehua I Milia Hula Halau (the mist of the lehua school of dance) is led by kumu hula (dance teacher) Myriam Valenzuela who is well known for her passion and knowledge about the Hawaiian Culture.
In our traditional halau the beginner haumana (student) is introduced to Hawaiian Culture through basic 'olelo (language), mele (song) and hula auana (modern dance) with the purpose of inspiring a lifetime journey and sustain the traditions of Hawaiian Culture.
When the beginner student is ripe, an invitation to the intermediate class will be given by kumu. In this class, the haumana will be introduced to kahiko and deepen their chant and instrument skills.
New haumana (students) always welcome.
