Music for Pregnancy
Sep 19, 2024 - Oct 10, 2024
Did you know that fetuses begin to hear sounds from the outside world
around 4 months gestation? Mom's voice attracts baby's attention
first, and the singing voice is actually heard more clearly in the
womb than the speaking voice. Hearing your voice every day in utero
establishes a sense of safety and comfort that continues after birth.
Research has shown that a fetus can learn to recognize simple melodies
that it has been exposed to repeatedly in the womb, and we can
actually condition the fetus to have a specific response to certain
songs (e.g.: relax, comfort, signal sleep or eating time).

In Pregnancy for Music, we will use music to create a calm and
nurturing space for your baby while they are making their home within
you; as well as deepen the special emotional bond you share with your
unborn baby.

PLAYLISTS
Learn how to create effective playlists for labor and delivery,
bedtime, and more!

SINGING & MOVEMENT
Learn how your singing voice, along with specific movements, can
stimulate your baby and strengthen the bond that you feel when your
baby moves to musical cues.

LEARN NEW SONGS
We will sing simple lullabies and special melodies that your baby will
learn to recognize more and more each time they hear it. You can even
use these songs after baby is born to continue strengthening your bond
and comfort your little one!

MUSIC & RELAXATION
Set to live music, we will work on relaxation techniques coupled with
guided imagery that will help to create a calm, stress-free
environment for the growing life inside you.

INSTRUMENTAL ACTIVITIES
Learn how to gently and safely use musical instruments to stimulate
your baby in utero and enable you to connect to their physical
movements.
