Lakewood - Sounding it Out w. Stacey Pickering & Casey Lewis
Jun 8, 2024 - Jun 8, 2024

Would you take a peek a these amazing humans?

Casey Lewis @caseylynnlewis & Stacey Pickering @we_are_vibrational_energy have been co-creating Sound Bath + Reiki offerings together for quite some time, as well as engaging in their own vocal sounding practices individually & in small groups. Both regularly experience supportive, transformative healing through their explorations with vocalizing - humming, toning, groaning, growling!, or whatever arises. As their collaborative Sound + Reiki offerings have evolved, they feel guided to not only share their vibrational support with folks for the time that we are gathered, but to help (re)connect participants with the medicine that those of us with breath & voice carry within and can almost always access.

Sounding it Out is about empowering ourselves to remember & reclaim our voices to support our own healing & liberation. In this practice we slow down, listen within, and notice what is asking for attention. We will bring care to the parts of us that need it through breath & vocalization (whatever arises! - maybe even a simple song / chant invitation). This can be done sitting, lying down, moving as needed, and even silently, in stillness, if desired.

Then, we'll release the practice & nestle in with blankets and bolsters to receive the restorative vibrations of crystal & Tibetan singing bowls, bells, chimes, gong, shruti box, rain stick, guda drum, & voice, and group hands-off (& possibly, optionally 1:1 hands-on) nurturing Reiki.

We'll take some time to process silently, with the option of journaling or artistic expression - bring supplies if you desire! -
then close our gathering, with an invitation to share.

Of course, vocal sounding is optional, as are all parts of these gatherings. Silence can surely be medicine too. But if there is something in us that fears being heard, perhaps a supportive container of nonjudgement is the perfect place to lean in with curiosity & compassion, and explore what happens when we give ourselves permission to have a voice.

Summer Solstice in the Great Meadow
Jun 21, 2024 - Jun 21, 2024

Fifteen and a half hours of continuous daylight, Summer Solstice is on its way! A couple of years ago, Stacey and I gathered together in the Great Meadow in Forest Hill Park along with about 30 people, to greet the turning of the season. We watched the wind blow through the tops of the trees, the curious young deer wander nearby, the sun slowly descend down into the lake. We spread out blankets and sheets and laid down in the tall grass together. Fireflies and flowers and all of us breathing, moving, and resting together. It was a magical evening I won't soon forget, and I'm excited to enjoy more time honoring the change.

Join us for an evening of qigong, yin yoga, meditation, a sound bath, and rest. Let's soak in the beauty of nature in this season, and prepare for the harvest ahead.

Friday, June 21st, 6:30 - 8:00pm

Larchmere - Moving Forward Immersion - Fall 2024
Sep 27, 2024 - Oct 18, 2024

In this era of unpredictability, chaos, violence, and loss, as we contend with white supremacist culture, toxic capitalism, patriarchy and the stripping of our rights, our bodies absorb shock after shock on our behalf. How might we metabolize all we’ve taken in? The Moving Forward Immersion provides the container within which we can identify and honor the constriction, the survival patterns, and the shapes we’ve developed to keep us alive and begin to gently move through them to access a version of ourselves that feels a little more free. As we explore balance, build strength, get playful, and tap into our inherent dignity, we expand our capacity to stay with and stay in the work of our collective liberation.

Because the body keeps far more than just the score.

This is a practice born out of the world's drastic changes; a practice continued because reality is asking something different from us all now. A practice sustained so that we can stay open to what's possible moving forward. Whether you arrive with a very personal purpose or are driven by the practitioner in you, join us. Learn how to co-harmonize your body with other bodies, inviting in a greater sense of togetherness.

For the burned out, for the parents, and caregivers, for the uninspired practitioners, for the first responders, the teachers, for those offering their therapies within four walls, for the curious, for the hopeful, for the organizers. For those who are deep in the work of healing. This practice is for us.

You’ll be guided by Cassandra Sirl, birth/death/body worker, Jenny King, professor and co-director of the Center for Trauma and Adversity at Case Western Reserve University, and Hope Hamling, founder and teacher at Abide Yoga in Cleveland.
