Intro to Pole Dance: Level 1 Intensive Series (October)

If you’ve always wanted to try pole dance and are ready to commit, this series is for you! If you’ve taken a couple of beginner pole classes but you want to get serious about moving up, then sign up! This 4 week series is designed for absolute beginners or current level 1 students who want a more personalized and expedited advancement through the level 1 curriculum. Each week we’ll introduce foundational skills and sequences with tips on how to train them. We’ll develop your pole vocabulary, skin tolerance, body awareness and strength so you have the framework and confidence to advance to the next level. Level 2 here you come!

No pole experience necessary! All are welcome.

Heels optional; yoga mat and knee pads/leg warmers recommended

Perfect for pole dancers of all levels, this series will enhance your fluidity of movement, fortify your stability, and introduce you to the beautiful world of Edgework.

We wholeheartedly believe that the allure of heels knows no bounds. We celebrate and welcome individuals of all genders who are eager to embrace the transformative power of heels and strut their stuff with confidence and fineness.

Week 1: Mastering the Foundation
Anatomy of the shoe
Strengthen and stretch your foot and ankle for optimal performance and safety
Learn the art of weight transfer while walking and rotating en pointe
Refine your technique with perfect pirouettes.

Week 2: Building Confidence
Strengthen and stretch your foot and ankle for optimal performance and safety
Explore weight transfer techniques for seamless dancing
Posing in heels for extension
Lay the groundwork with edgework basics

Week 3: Embrace Your Sultry Side
Strengthen and stretch your foot and ankle for optimal performance and safety
Master sultry crawls
Refine your floorwork by using your toebox
Fancy legwork with flare
Stand tall with confidence as you learn to get down and rise back up.

Week 4: Gliding to New Heights
Strengthen and stretch your foot and ankle for optimal performance and safety
Dive into beginner slides and glides with finesse
Break the inside edge with seamless weight transfer techniques
Driving the stiletto

Prerequisites:
Completion of at least 4 level 1 pole classes or completion of the Intro to Pole Dance Series
7 or higher pole dance heels (8 preferred) from brands like Pleasers, Ellie, or Hella Heels
Highly recommended: Clear Top or Jellie Sandals for enhanced ankle mobility
Note: Boots are acceptable but will hinder ankle mobility and fluidity
Knee pads are essential for your safety and comfort throughout the series
