Pre-requisite: For this level, you already know the Brazilian Zouk basics, and you have begun dancing Brazilian Zouk socially.
Baza partner dance courses have 4 modules at the Fundamentals level - students will therefore stay at this learning stage for at least 24 weeks. If it is your first time taking the Fundamentals course we recommend you take the Intro course and Fundamentals course at the same time at least once.

Discover this fun, high-energy,
beautiful Brazilian dance! Lambada developed in the 80s and took
the world by storm. Born from a mix of native, afro-Brazilian,
European, and Latin dances, Lambada is characterized by energetic
and sensual movements as well as by its connection, including wi-fi
dancing. Lambada is also the mother of Brazilian Zouk and a great
addition to anyone who is interested in learning more about these
dances. Joins us for fun and flow and connection!

Baza's Connected Dance programs have firm pre-requisites
and joining Fundamentals or higher may require an
assessment. Students who have completed Intro Bachata at
Baza do not need an assessment to join Fundamentals, but anyone who
has not completed Intro with us must have an assessment prior to
registering.

BAZA HAS INTAKE ASSESSMENTS FOR THE BACHATA PROGRAM ONCE A
MONTH. No other
assessments will be scheduled outside of this assessment date.
Students who register for a course and have not completed an
assessment according to the chart above may be denied admission
into a course they do not qualify for.
Students must pre-register for the assessment and expect to be at
the assessment class for an hour, although students may be released
earlier.
The assessment will consist of a warm-up dance and then a
demonstration of social dancing abilities with a variety of
partners to a a variety of Bachata music styles. Students may be
asked to demonstrate specific figures and also dance with
assessors.
Please wear appropriate dance shoes and clothing.
Assessment results will be released 48 hours after assessment
date.
