Course Difficulty Level: Intermediate

This class builds upon the protocols and practice of CST I. The instruction and practice moves into the prone and supine use of craniosacral techniques utilizing coupled holds as described in the book: “The Heart of Listening” Hugh Milnes. Craniosacral Therapy is a whole-body hand on application of gentle palpation, traction, compression, and rocking. With this modality you can relieve or “release” the stress and restrictions that may impair nervous system function. Dr. Sutherland, an Osteopath in the 1950’s was the father of craniosacral therapy in the United States. It was designed as a systematic approach gentle touch to bring balance to the central nervous system. Craniosacral work is not a diagnosis. It is a way to listen to the patient body and optimize functional movement with little force. During a session the body is free to move into new space and increase range of motion. Patients enjoy a calming experience. The subtle movements and relaxation assist the body’s natural self-correcting mechanism. This work is intended for adult patients only

NOBODY TREATS SHOULDER KNOT PAIN MORE EFFECTIVELY THAT A MEDICAL MASSAGE THERAPIST!

Now there is a successful protocol you can follow to treat it!

In my experience, the knots found at the medial borders of the scapula are among the top five most frequently mentioned soft tissue complaints. It could be on either side of your client’s body, and by referring all over it mimics many other complaints in the shoulders, neck, lats, etc. I work on this specific condition on a daily basis and it drives my client’s crazy. It’s that chronic low grade pain, day in and day out for months and sometimes years that wears them down. The only modality I have ever seen effective against trigger points in the rhomboids is medical massage. It’s what separates us from all the other modalities.

Soft tissue complaints require a soft tissue solution and we are soft tissue experts!

During any given year, a handful of my clients will check themselves into the local emergency room thinking that they might be experiencing a serious cardio issue. They can’t take a deep breath without pain or lift their arm up, and they invariably start thinking it’s something big. After a thorough medical examination, they are routinely told that they have a pinched nerve or a trigger point firing in their scapular region and are prescribed either an anti-inflammatory, a pain killer, or sent for physical or massage therapy.

Join massage pioneer Larry Heisler in this all day, hands-on workshop that specifically addresses inter-scapular trigger points. Larry will take you through all the aspects of his dramatically effective approach exploring causes, contributing factors, contraindications and long-term strategies.

This class will help you address your client’s inter-scapular pain, and the protocol you are going to learn will give you the experience and insight you need! You will have the clinical tools to address this soft tissue complaint effectively and it will be great for your business!

I loved the class! — Nalda Pena, LMT

Enjoyed this class very much! I’m looking forward to implementing these techniques with my clients right away. — Danielle Kastner, LMT

By far the most informative, interactive class taught by an amazing instructor! — Joseph Merola

At the pinnacle, as well as the twilight of his wildly successful quarter century massage therapy career, former 11-year NJ Massage Board Alumnus, Al Vonderahe has decided to teach and share his extraordinary assessment and treatment wisdom. He wants to pass down his knowledge. Vonderahe has performed over 40,000 massage hours in a practice that is routinely Full by word of mouth.
That’s right, read that again! His hands did the advertising.
Wait it gets better…

Al uses no oil and his clientele does not take off their clothes.
Never have for 25 years now.

Vonderahe only treats folks in pain and his practice is filled with fellow medical professionals, both as clients as well as rich sources of referral. Vonderahe has an “Eagle eye” in assessment skills, an education from massage luminaries like Chaitow, along with bodywork PAIN management strategies that include neuromuscular, myofascial, strain/counterstrain and good old fashion warmth and understanding. This class is a gift from a retiring American Bodywork Grandmaster. My entire massage staff took this class and absolutely loved it. You are going to love it too and him. Shortcut your way to a fulfilling career in “Touch Medicine!”
