Trail Hike or Power Hike 9 week Session: Spring 2024

Trail Hike Spring Session: Power Hike, Hike or Gentle Hike (paces for everyone).

Session: 9 week spring session
Date: Tuesday’s starting April 23rd – June 18th, 2024 (9 week series)
Time: 6:00 – 7:00pm
Investment: $130 + hst ($14.50 per class)
Location: Vicki Tree Wellness studio 3626 Line 5 North
Leads: Virginia, Erin and Kelley
 
**should you only be able to commit to 6, 7 or 8 evenings of the 9 session, if you let us know prior to booking, we will give you a pro-rated rate. No need to tell us dates.
*** drop-in spots will be available if room at $20 per night in case you want to bring a friend occasionally.
 
We are changing it up a bit this year and only having hiking: Power Hike, Gentle Hike or Saunter.
 
As well we will mostly start from Vicki Tree Wellness and spread deep into the woods and on occasion visit other trail heads. Great time to learn the forest.
 
PLUS - there will be a Gentle Stretch To Restore class with Virginia right afterwards (40 min stretch, 20 min restore), to make a nice combination should you wish to stay. So really, it can be a Tuesday Hike, Stretch & Restore. Can't get better than that!
 
**Given space is limited, there are no credits/transfers or make-ups for classes missed Thank you for your understanding.
 
FORMAT FOR TRAIL HIKE CLASS:
  • Hike at your pace for 55 minutes.
  • Hiking with the focus of getting your heart rate up and moving your body at a comfortable but challenging pace. The class will divide into 3 groups to accommodate various speeds and will cover 3 – 5km each week. All levels welcome. At your own pace – always!

Introducing a new speciality class called Sound Bath & Hot Stone Union: “A Sensory Healing Relaxation Journey”, presented by Anita (The Crystal Lounge) and Virginia (Vicki Tree Wellness Inc.).

This soul filling journey will guide you through a relaxing evening that will heighten all five senses to anchor you into the presentmoment, while eliciting a sense of calm & inner peace. It begins with an overview of how/when our senses will be explored, followed by 105 minutes of carefully blending meditation, hot stone, sound bathing, restorative postures, touch, essential oils and visuals to help you gently drift off into bliss. Bask in the evening’s sensations and leave feeling rejuvenated, grounded and at peace from the inside out.

Yin Song Workshop- Sunday, June 9th (10:30am - 12:30pm)

This magical Yin Song Workshop is a 2 hour integrated journey of live music, cacao blessing, and sound bath; weaving restorative postures and meditation into these healing vibrations of sound.
 
Suitable for all ages, bodies and requires no previous experience with yoga.
 
Outline is as follows:
 
  • 15 minute cacao blessing with 3 separate intentions, with breath into the cacao and sip after each breath.
  • 50 minute yin gentle practise. During this time Live Loops are made with the loop station. Each posture is held for approximately 5 minutes which allows Chris to create beautiful soundscapes for each asana.
  • Finally, we arrive at 40 min savasana, where you receive a sound bath. The sound is a mixture of created loops and acoustic instruments that Chris walks around and “bathes” people in. Didgeridoo, medicine drum, flutes, chimes, voice is used while Iselin comes around to offer lite touch and aroma of her handmade oils.

Through studies of nutrition, herbalism, homeopathy and plant medicine work, Iselin has found an approach to health and wellness that is holistic, Earth-based and attainable; rooted in both science and spirituality. Iselin works intimately with the medicine of cacao, through ceremony, ritual and prayer, and has a book entirely dedicated to cacao and raw chocolate recipes, “The Art Of Chocolate”.   • CHRIS MAPSTONE: Mapstone’s music is Steeped in conscious lyrics, thoughtful grooves and melodic, earthly melodies.
