Flow into 2026 with this intention-setting New Year’s Day Karma Yoga Practice
As we enter a new year, we welcome a new beginning. It’s a time to celebrate and release the past, while looking forward to what’s to come. As 2026 begins, this New Year’s Day Slow Flow Yoga Karma class represents a small personal ritual to set and seal your intention for the coming year. Karma Yoga is the yoga of action. It’s about purifying your heart by learning to act selflessly in the service of others. Service is at the heart of karma yoga, and it is this belief in the power of karma yoga and the importance of giving back that is at the core of the HeartSpace Collective.
As an additional expression of karma, this New Year’s Day project gives you the opportunity to ‘pay it forward’ through cash donations that will go to Belleville General Hospital. AnnMarie & Stef will donate their time, Absolute Wellness Quinte will donate the use of the studio, and members of our beautiful newly forming HeartSpace community have the opportunity to donate cash in accordance with their personal means and intentions.
Join Carrie Schaefer for this 6-week gentle flow yoga series. This class will set you up for a smooth week. This gentle flow yoga series is suitable for all experience levels, beginners through yogis. The practice will stretch your body and soothe your mind, helping you sail through the rest of your week with ease and grace. Modifications will be suggested, to allow for EVERY body to participate in this series.
Dive into a transformative journey with our first-ever meditation series inspired by “The Untethered Soul,” facilitated by Meditation Coach and Guide, Stef Bourke.
This compact, yet powerful book, recommended by Oprah's book club, offers profound insights that can shift your perspective and awaken your consciousness. Each week, we'll explore one of five sections together, discussing the most impactful parts while enjoying a relaxed atmosphere, no pressure if you fall behind! Each session will conclude with a guided meditation, helping you internalize the teachings more deeply. As a bonus, you'll receive audio recordings of the meditation, allowing you to continue to fully integrate the themes and concepts presented in each section.
Embrace this opportunity to join in community with likeminded souls, awaken your consciousness and embrace life more fully!
*There are digital and paper copies of this book available at the library and you can stream it for free on YouTube.
Each class in this series offers a coordinated collection of the challenging, slow-moving, ballistic and/or controlled muscle- building workouts. As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass and with it the ability to do the things that we would love to be able to do for the rest of our life, but we don’t have to lose that muscle mass. We can defend our muscle mass, mobility, and co-ordination.
Strength training doesn’t just enhance the benefits of yoga, it increases a yogi’s ability to not only achieve challenging poses but also enhances their ability to perform activities of daily living with less fatigue. When we build muscle, our bodies naturally burn more glucose even at rest; increase bone density; and demonstrate more muscle definition. As you get stronger you will notice that your balance improves, and your yoga practice improves.
