Disclaimer:
If you DO NOT participate in this clinic then your child WILL NOT fall behind their peers. In fact studies* have shown that kids who have their season extended into the summer via “select soccer programs” and anything like them involving a continuance of their boring team training and pointless tournament play will experience an array of symptoms that include; mental fatigue, physical fatigue, less love for soccer, and possible resentment for having to miss swim parties and beach days; common refrains will be “I don't wanna...”, “Do I have to?”, “Can't I skip it tonight?”, many players will elect to quit the game altogether before their teenage years, even worse some will abandon the game to take up skateboarding because skateboarding culture is historically rebellious, peer directed, and usually done without adult involvement. Don't let your soccer players become skateboarders. Take the summer off and return to your club teams in later August, rested and excited to see friends and play soccer again, but if you don't heed our advice then come to our Friday night Street Soccer clinic where freedom, skill, and players owning the game are central to everything we do.
*Studies conducted by Paul and John growing up in the game in the 1980s when everything was simpler, slower, and kids had more freedom.

Where: Freedom Park Basketball Courts (86 Union St. Medford, NJ 08055)
Cost: $20
Format: 4v4 or 5v5 w/gks. Teams of 8 players maximum. We'll help individuals make teams.

-
2 matches per night
-
18-24min matches (length of match depends on # of players/teams on the evening)
-
Rosters NONE. This is a loose interpretation of a “league”. You can bring different players every week if you want.
-
We'll have refs to help manage time and keep players safe - These are not USYS officials, these are older players or coaches that will call fouls and balls out of play. Their primary focus again is player safety and keep the games flowing.
-
AKKA coaches will be on hand to help teams through the night with some tactics, technical advice, etc., BUT this is a Player and Game centered environment. Players are strongly encouraged to do their own subbing and coaching of themselves. Adult Coaches are NOT required BUT welcome as with the youngest players a little help subbing can be useful BUT remember that kids can make these decisions if given the room to do so.
