Finding Ease: Stress Support for Living with Chronic Pain

Living with chronic pain is exhausting. When we aren’t feeling well, many proven stress management strategies like exercise or yoga may not feel available to us. Stress makes pain louder, but managing stress shouldn’t require more energy than you have.

This workshop offers simple, compassionate strategies for calming your nervous system, easing tension, and supporting your body on painful days. We’ll discuss real strategies backed by pain science research to help relieve pain, and you’ll learn realistic tools you can use to modify your yoga practice on days you are not feeling your best.

Participants will learn:

  • What the latest brain imaging research tells us about pain and our brains.

  • About the relationship of stress and pain.

  • The three common beliefs that can exacerbate pain.

  • Somatic and mindfulness techniques to reduce tension.

  • How to create a plan to cope with stressful or high pain days.

This workshop is designed for people with chronic pain, chronic illness, or anyone whose pain and daily stress feel overwhelming. No yoga experience required. All bodies, abilities, and experience levels are welcome.
