Join Katharina for a 75-minute integrated yoga practice designed to balance your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Intervals of vinyasa yoga are paired with breathwork, intuitive movement, and intentional pauses. This well-rounded practice will leave you feeling lighter and more in-touch with your body, mind, and soul. We end each practice with a 15-minute meditation and optional journaling to help you reflect on the experience. No prior yoga experience is required. Meet Allison. She has traveled a spiritual path as long as she can remember. Her clairsentience, her connection to Oneness, and intuitive nature have been with her since birth. She earned a Religious Studies degree at Wake Forest University in 2004. and studied at the Candler Divinity School at Emory university in her late 20s. Since then, she explored a different path earning a masters degree in communication disorders and has been working as a speech language pathologist in schools for over 10 years. While she’s still passionate about working with children as an SLP, she’s dove much deeper into a wide range of spiritual practices including ancient ceremony and ritual, reiki, light work, and shamanism. Allison’s calling is to help others tap into their own divinity and higher purpose. The mother of an empathic and intuitive 10 year old daughter, she is called to create a community for fellow light workers, mothers, daughters, sisters, fathers, and brothers, who crave more space for the sacred in their lives.

Healing with Yoga: The Basics of Incorporating Yoga to Recover from Trauma

Join Molly Halbrooks, LMFT and Jennifer Holmes, CYT-200, for a 2-hour workshop on Saturday, May 18th focusing on how to incorporate yoga to recover from trauma. Molly will begin with a guided imagery practice before moving into a discussion on trauma in the body, including the brain-body feedback loop, dissociation, impacts on physical health, and effective treatments for trauma. From there Jennifer will guide a 30-minute trauma-informed yoga practice to help release physically stored trauma utilizing breath awareness and gentle movement. The workshop will also include journaling - bring a notebook if you have one.
 
Molly Halbrooks is a licensed therapist and the founder of Restore Counseling and Therapy here in Belmont. She is trained in EMDR and works with individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and relational struggles, among other things. She is a longtime yoga practitioner, and has seen the impact of an ongoing yoga practice on emotional health both personally and professionally.
 
Jennifer Holmes is a 200-hour Certified Yoga Teacher, specializing in restorative and trauma-informed yoga. She has volunteered her time to teach trauma-informed yoga with Brave Step, a local non-profit organization for those impacted by sexual violence.
