Celebrating Audubon Yoga Studio’s 25th Anniversary
This fall we celebrate 25 years of Audubon Yoga Studio with a special weekend of practice led by Chris Saudek and Randy Just. Together, they bring a unique blend of wisdom, precision, and joy—rooted in the living tradition of parampara, the teacher–student relationship that lies at the heart of yoga.
Chris began traveling to Pune in the 1980 to study directly with B.K.S. Iyengar. Over decades of dedicated practice, she became one of his trusted students and was encouraged to pass yoga on to her community. Teaching always from the heart, Chris inspired many of her students to become teachers themselves. Becky and Randy both entered her teacher-training program in Madison, Wisconsin, where she mentored them with patience and depth. Randy continues to study with Chris to this day.
Randy began his own pilgrimages to RIMYI in the late ’90s, developing a close relationship with Geeta Iyengar. He went on to open the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Studio of Dallas, now in its 25th year. In New Orleans, Randy became an integral part of the community when Karin O’Bannon asked him to continue the Audubon Yoga Studio teacher-training program after her passing in 2013. His annual workshops in New Orleans remain a source of inspiration and growth for many.
Chris and Randy’s teaching is both clear and demanding, always guiding students to look inward through the body, mind, and breath. Their combined presence for this anniversary weekend will honor our lineage while celebrating the play and vitality of practice.
