Do you sometimes experience pain,
discomfort, or a feeling of “tightness” on the outside of your hips
or knees? Often this might be a result of a tight IT (Iliotibial)
band, a thick tendon connecting muscle to bone that runs from the
outside of your knee up to your hip. When the muscles of the hips
are tight, they can pull on the IT band which can create friction
during movement. Strengthening and stretching the muscles and
tendon as a part of your ongoing fitness/exercise plan can not only
help alleviate (or prevent) pain and discomfort in hips and knees,
but it can also help improve your balance and range of
motion.
In this 90-minute workshop, Samantha will teach and guide you
through specific exercises designed to help you stretch and
strengthen this often ignored body area so that both your yoga
practice and day-to-day active pursuits can benefit!

* Understand the movement problems that may result from a tight IT
band, and how to help alleviate those problems
* Practice a series of exercises designed specifically to stretch

intangibly and leave with your own painted rocks to add beauty to
our wonderful city!
Rocks will range from approximately one to three inches in size,
and acrylic paints, brushes, and paint pens will be provided;
please wear clothing you're comfortable getting messy in. Open to
all artistic skill levels as this is an opportunity to be the light
you want to see in the world. Ages 8 and up with adult supervision,
use your discretion on if your kiddo will be able to
participate.
As you prepare to paint your rock, reflect on what our community
most needs right now and let that guide your design. Ponder these
ideas beforehand to enhance your experience:

-What do you want to create in the world?
-What’s a wish for your COS community?
-What’s a lesson you’ve learned through yoga that you wish people
around you knew?

Join us for our Wellbeing in Bloom Challenge! Starting Sunday April 26th through May 8th, we challenge you to attend nine classes of varying styles! We will have bingo cards available to help you keep track, along with fun stickers from our teachers! Who doesn't love a good sticker!
Here's how the challenge goes:
The goal is to attend nine classes over all, while attending different kinds of class ranging from restorative all the way to hot power fusion. Participating in the challenge and meeting the challenge requirements enters you for three different prizes.
If you attend 3 classes of one style, be entered to win one week of unlimited yoga.
If you attend 6 classes including two varied styles, be entered to win one month of unlimited yoga!
If you attend 9 classes of three varied styles be entered to win six months of unlimited yoga!
