Join Kelly and Neda for this six-week series designed to support you in the tender, transformative postpartum period. This class welcomes all new moms and birth parents—with or without your non-mobile baby—to move, breathe, and reconnect with your body in a safe, nurturing space.
Through gentle, mindful movement, you’ll begin to rebuild core and pelvic stability, release tension in the shoulders and hips, and restore balance to both body and mind. You’ll also have the chance to connect with other parents navigating this same season—sharing stories, laughter, and support.
Each class includes:
- Grounding breathwork to calm the nervous system
- Gentle core and pelvic floor reactivation
- Strength and mobility exercises for shoulders, hips, and spine
- Restorative poses for relaxation and release
- Community connection and space to share (if desired)
- A closing rest to replenish your energy
You’ll leave feeling more centered, supported, and empowered as you continue your postpartum healing journey.
Join experienced prenatal yoga
instructors Alaina Godfrey and Neda Dowlatshahi for a two-hour
workshop designed to support both the birthing person and their
chosen birth partner(s) as they prepare for labor. This
interactive, informative session will offer practical tools and
hands-on techniques that can be used throughout the late stages of
pregnancy and during childbirth — no matter your birth plan or
setting.
Together, we’ll
explore:
- Breathwork to help manage
intensity and regulate the nervous system
- Mantras and mindfulness
techniques to stay focused and grounded
- Partner-supported poses that can
ease discomfort and create connection
- Simple massage techniques and
comfort positions to use during labor
This workshop is ideal for
pregnant individuals in any stage of their third trimester and the
partner, friend, or support person who will be by their side during
birth. It’s also a great opportunity to deepen your connection,
improve communication, and build confidence as a team. You’ll leave
with a better understanding of how to work with your body during
labor, as well as how your partner can provide meaningful, hands-on
support throughout the experience.
Please note: Registration is per person,
and all attendees — including birth partners or support persons —
must be registered individually. This helps us ensure adequate
space and attention for all participants.

Q: Am I too old/out of shape for this series? Alternatively, am I too young/experienced at yoga to learn more?
A: No! This series is perfect for everyone, and we will all support you wherever you are in your life journey and yoga journey. The whole group will develop better connection and understanding of yoga as we learn how to adapt the poses for everyone.
Q: If I already have a membership, can I still sign up?
A: Absolutely! This is a wonderful enhancement to your existing practice. You can register for Roots and Wings now and we will happily put a hold on your existing membership during the six weeks of the series.
Q: What if I miss a session?
A: You’ll still be able to follow along with the post-class notes. While we don’t offer make-ups, the series is such a good deal that you’ll get tons of value even if you must miss a session or two.

Alexis Besosa, (E-RYT 200), brings a deep knowledge of anatomy and physiology from her studies in Exercise Physiology and massage therapy. She has taught anatomy, physiology and pathology to both yoga teachers and massage therapy students, blending science and somatic awareness in a practical, approachable way. Alexis brings curiosity and compassion to her teaching, helping students feel supported, empowered, and inspired to explore their own bodies and practice with confidence. Alexis' expertise in teaching includes depth and breadth: she seamlessly across a variety of styles of yoga, and helps each student connect to the practice from wherever they are.
