Healing through Mindful Movement and Meditation
This gentle, nurturing yoga series is created for individuals with a history of cancer and for the caregivers and loved ones who support them. Together, we’ll create a compassionate space to reconnect with the body, ease tension, rebuild strength and balance, and cultivate resilience. Through accessible movement, mindful breathwork, and guided meditation, participants are invited to move at their own pace while fostering community, hope, and renewed confidence.
No prior yoga experience is required. Individuals with a history of cancer are warmly welcome, and caregivers are equally encouraged to attend—whether alongside their loved one or on their own.
Research shows that gentle yoga and meditation can help reduce common cancer-related side effects such as fatigue, anxiety, and low mood while supporting overall well-being. This series is led by Denise Spector, a yoga instructor, who is also an oncology nurse practitioner and integrative health practitioner, with a deep commitment to supporting cancer survivors in their healing journey.
Led by Antonia Beh, who
brings decades of experience as a dancer, choreographer, and
educator in the Triangle, this class offers a thoughtful and
accessible approach to movement that welcomes dancers of all
backgrounds.
Rooted in creative dance, this class offers an inviting approach to
exploring modern dance techniques. Whether you’re brand new to
dance or returning after time away, you’ll be guided into movement
with curiosity, playfulness, and support.
We’ll build expressive dance phrases from fundamental movement
principles—breath, flow, suspension, and release—starting with
simple standing exercises to ground awareness in the body. From
there, we’ll gradually expand into more dynamic movement patterns,
traveling through space and exploring rhythm, momentum, and
connection to the room around you.
Along the way, you’ll be encouraged to listen inward, make choices
that feel authentic, and discover your own unique movement
language. The class weaves together structure and freedom, offering
both clear guidance and space for personal expression.
Open to all levels of movers, this is a joyful opportunity to
awaken creativity, build confidence, and reconnect with your body
in motion. Come as you are—ready to explore, move, and release your
inner dancer.
Qigong (pronounced chee
gong, chee gung, or chee kung) is an ancient Chinese practice that
blends mindful movement, breath, meditation, and sound to calm the
mind, support the nervous system, and cultivate inner balance and
harmony. Central to QiGong is Qi, the body’s vital life force.
Through gentle movements, we cultivate, circulate, and harmonize
Qi, supporting physical vitality, emotional balance, and a sense of
ease throughout the body.
This 5-week series focuses on the energy of spring and the Wood
element—associated with growth, renewal, and forward movement.
Aligning with this seasonal energy invites greater harmony within
the body and with the rhythms of nature. We’ll explore grounding,
fluid flow, and resilient strength through movements that awaken
the tendons, ligaments, and side body, supporting energetic balance
and nervous system regulation. In QiGong, the liver is linked to
the smooth flow of energy throughout the body and is closely
connected to the tendons and connective tissues, so supporting this
system can help release tension, improve flexibility, and restore a
sense of ease and balance.
Classes are accessible to beginners and experienced practitioners
alike, moving at a steady, unhurried pace with grounding and
flowing sequences. Over five weeks, you’ll build familiarity,
deepen awareness of your body’s energy, and reconnect with a steady
sense of vitality, calm, and balance.
Held on Monday evenings, this series is a restorative way to
resource yourself for the week ahead. Register for the series or
join as a drop-in.
