Biodanza 6 Class Series (Spring Edition)
Mar 17, 2026 - Apr 21, 2026

Tuesdays | 3/17 - 4/21 | 7:30–9:15 PM | Cocoon Philly

with Ashley King, M.S.Ed., Ed.M., LPC

If you’ve loved our open Biodanza workshops, this 6-week series is where the real transformation happens!

While drop-ins give you a taste of the practice, this closed series creates the consistency and safety needed to truly dive in. With the same group journeying together each week, trust deepens, movement becomes freer, and the emotional and relational growth expands with every session.

Join us for a six-week dive into the splendor of Biodanza — a progressive journey through music, movement, and connection. Commitment matters! The weekly structure allows us to deepen and grow together in vibrant, nurturing community.

Through guided movement and music, we’ll explore the power of Biodanza to (re)awaken emotion, recover instinct, promote self-expression, foster joy, invite intimacy, and cultivate affective human bonds. Whether you’re a seasoned mover or a curious beginner, this somatic journey promises a powerful experience that celebrates our shared aliveness. Come discover the magic of The Dance of Life!

What is Biodanza?

The word Biodanza literally translates to “The Dance of Life.” Founded in the 1960s by Chilean anthropologist and psychologist Rolando Toro, it’s a system of somatic and relational self-development that blends dance, music, archetypal gestures, and intentional connection to awaken five lines of life force: vitality, sexuality, creativity, affectivity, and transcendence.

This practice fosters reconnection with our instincts, emotions, and the body itself — as well as with one another through presence and movement. Sometimes called “The Poetry of Human Encounter,” Biodanza is truly a masterclass in embodied love.

Kirtan & Kitchari 3/22
Mar 22, 2026 - Mar 22, 2026

Kirtan & Kitchari
3/22 | 3:30-5:30 PM

Low production. Low key. High Bhakti vibes. All are Welcome!

This event is donation-based ($10 suggested) and 100% of proceeds will go to The People’s Kitchen, a Philadelphia nonprofit using food to empower, transform, and heal through free nutritious meals, gardening, and education. You can learn more about them here > https://www.peopleskitchenphilly.com/

We’ll start the evening droping into a Kirtan, led by Ellis Kantrowitz and friends. Kirtan is a call-and-response style chanting practice — simple melodies, sacred mantras, and communal singing. You don’t need to be a “singer.” You can chant, hum, sway, dance, play along, or just lie down and listen. It’s about participation, presence, and shared energy — not performance.

Afterwards we'll gather around for a warm bowl of Kitchari, lovingly prepared by Chef Matt Buddha. Kitchari is a simple, nourishing Ayurvedic dish made from rice, lentils, and gentle spices — easy to digest, grounding, and deeply comforting. We’ll eat, connect, and settle in together until about 5:30pm. Not hungry? No worries...just hang

We want these Kirtans to be community-led and community-powered — a space where we gather, uplift each other, and give back.

If you can’t donate $10, no stress. Come anyway.

Feel free to bring instruments and join in.

Please pre-register ASAP so Chef knows how much food to prepare for us :)

Come for a little. Stay for the whole journey.
Let’s sing. Let’s nourish. Let’s give back together.

Kundalini Yoga + Sound Journey
Mar 26, 2026 - Mar 26, 2026

Kundalini Yoga + Sound Journey with Jessica Tracy

Join us for an evening of trauma informed Kundalini Yoga & Sound Journey — an evening designed to awaken energy, clear the mind, and deeply reset the nervous system.

Jessica will guide a Kundalini kriya weaving together breathwork (pranayama), mantra, meditation, and intentional movement to help release stored tension and activate your inner vitality. Often called the “yoga of awareness,” Kundalini works on the physical body, energetic system, and subconscious patterns all at once — leaving you feeling both grounded and expanded.

After the movement practice, we’ll transition into an extended sound journey for deep regulation and integration. You’ll be bathed in live vibrations including harp, gong, shamanic drumming, Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, and more. These layered tones and rhythms are designed to calm the nervous system, support emotional release, and create space for stillness and clarity.

This is a powerful yet accessible evening — come ready to move, breathe, rest, and receive.

It fosters reconnection with our vital instincts, our emotions, our bodies, and our in-the-flesh relationship with each other as dynamic, feeling human beings. Sometimes referred to as “The Poetry of Human Encounter,” it is truly a Masterclass in embodied Love!

Slow Flow + Live Music w/ Angela Hassan
Mar 28, 2026 - Mar 28, 2026

Join us for a Slow Flow yoga class accompanied by live music from Angela Hassan — vocalist and multi-instrumentalist known for her work in kirtan and meditative sound journeys.

Angela will weave her angelic voice with guitar, zither, and harmonium throughout the class, creating a rich and supportive soundscape that softens the heart and deepens the experience.

The class itself will be a breath-led, accessible slow flow guided by Jacob Ellis— combining intentional breathwork with creative yet grounded transitions that make the practice feel fluid and almost dance-like. Expect smooth sequencing, steady pacing, and space to move in a way that feels expressive but never overwhelming cueing.

The live music helps guide the nervous system into ease while the slow flow builds strength, mobility, and presence.

This practice is about sensation over perfection.
Atmosphere over intensity.
Feeling over forcing.

The live sacred sounds create a sacred sound current. The breath follows. The body responds.

All levels welcome.
Come ready to move, breathe, and let the mood of the music guide you.
