Pilates
builds strength, core stability, balance, flexibility,
proprioception, and mental focus. It is a form of exercise that
focuses on controlled movements that target the whole body, but
particularly the core. Part of what sets Pilates apart from other
types of workouts is the focus on the quality of movement over
quantity of movement.
In this
dynamic practice lab, you will learn and practice the principles of
many central Pilates exercises such as the hundred, single and
double leg stretch, the shoulder bridge, and side
kicks.
This lab
will provide you with the foundation to join any of our pilates
classes. All are welcome - those new to or already practicing
Pilates. Join this lab to build or further develop your pilates
practice.

This all-levels 90 minute practice will celebrate the eastern lunar calendar's Year of the Snake. The year of the snake will bring us a period of deep shift and transformation. Shedding a layer of old energy can be refreshing, but transformation and metamorphosis is often intense, uncomfortable, difficult, and full of resistance. So let’s put our best foot forward!
In this practice, you will explore not only a vigorous asana flow, but also deep pranayama and meditation to clear and cleanse the mind. Let’s not “just go with the flow”, but let us move with curiosity and awareness. The challenge will be to stay truly present, not just for the mechanism of the practice, but for what arises *within* the mechanism of the practice. Get ready to dig deep and start the process of shedding the old as we celebrate the opportunities in this new year for this community and yourself!
Have you ever felt challenged to maintain “proper from” as you flow through a vinyasa sequeunce? Do you feel aligned and balanced in one posture only to feel “off” as you flow to the next? Are you more comfortable with modifying the static postures of Hot 26 than the dynamic poses and transitions of vinyasa? If so, this two hour advanced level workshop is for you! Amber will focus on helping you create dynamic alignment and transitional muscle engagement throughout your vinyasa practices, resulting in improved confidence and a more sustainable practice. Don't miss this unique opportunity.
