Kids Yoga - 8 week series
Jan 12, 2023 - Mar 2, 2023
This 8 week after school kids series with Sarah
Schwab is designed for growing minds to engage with big
topics.
At its center, this program focuses on teaching
yoga from a culturally responsible lens, sharing the rich
traditions of yoga while incorporating a variety of mindfulness and
movement pedagogy to serve the whole child. The lessons
unfold in a natural progression that respects the traditional yogic
framework while cultivating mindful awareness, utilizing
integrative practices in a variety of contexts. After completing
this curriculum, students will have a holistic understanding of the
moral and ethical code of Yoga - the Yamas and Niyamas. Students
will learn traditional Asana poses (the physical postures of yoga),
Pranayamas (breathing exercises), Mudras (hand postures), and
guided meditations (visualizations) that connect to each lesson and
help the students further explore the topic at-hand. Students will
