Through discussion,
demonstration, and practice, students will learn to effectively
“read” a mixed-level class, learn which advanced apex postures are
best suited to be taught in a mixed level class (i.e. easily
modified to make it more challenging or more accessible), how to
cue in a manner that all levels of students present are able to
find what they “need.” Additionally, students will learn to teach
advanced classes with multiple apexes, how to safely sequence so
students are physically and energetically prepared for each stage,
and how to counterpose physically and energetically.

Introducing a guided
meditation into your teaching may seem like a daunting task; this
workshop is designed to bring clarity and structure to the process
in order to make it fun and easy for you, as a teacher, to
include.
This
workshop will briefly re-visit specific Yoga concepts and
philosophy, explore the various styles of meditation that we see
around us, and include suggestions on structure and scripting as
well as a discussion about the responsibilities and ethics that
tend to come up as you guide others. We then dive right into
structuring and scripting our own mini-meditation with the option
to share our drafts.
A guided
meditation will close the workshop.
300-hour candidates will receive elective hours credit for
attending.
Many of us first studied the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali during our original teacher training. That first time through can be a bit overwhelming and more than a little confusing. However, one of the most amazing things about the Sūtras is that we learn a bit more in each subsequent study.In this in-depth examination, we will approach the Sūtras through more experienced eyes. This session will include extensive discussion that, hopefully, will allow a more nuanced reading of Patañjali's work, helping to find a more relevant application to the life we live today.
