Mantra has been used since antiquity as a tool of transformation in all areas of life: physical, spiritual, financial, relational and intellectual. It is a combination of particular words and sounds that embody different forms of Divine consciousness which promote harmony in all areas of life. The repetition of these specific sounds can open up one’s whole being and help one heal and expand in any area where there is struggle. Mantra can also be used to create specific results by aligning us with the energies we wish to become and bring into our life. Mantra can be done for self or directed to help others toward healing and peace.

The ancient Hindu teachings say that chanting a mantra with more than one person exponentially empowers the purpose of the mantra and the energies it carries. If you have never chanted before or even if you have a personal practice, come and enjoy the power and energy that comes from group chant in a sacred space!

Back-to-school Pilates Boot Camp

Get stronger, longer, leaner and improve your flexibility and posture in this four-week Pilates Boot Camp! Ideal for anyone who wants to start their day with a rigorous core workout that is safe and effective for all bodies. Each Pilates class will progress from lying down to sitting to standing so that you leave feeling taller, energized and aligned. The sequence of exercises will build in complexity and difficulty, challenging your stamina, body control and focus.
 
No prior experience with Pilates is necessary to participate. This Boot Camp is geared towards beginning and experienced Pilates students alike.

A chance for connection along the spiritual path.

Yoga, in both its deepest and broadest essences, is the actuality of movement from the illusion of separation into the reality of connection and wholeness. It is both journey and destination.

For many of us, we get to live moments of wholeness while on the mat or meditation cushion, but translating that ‘being-ness’ into the process of our day-to-day lives can leave us feeling anything but whole. These monthly group opportunities are a time to connect with others navigating a spiritual path that wends through a greater world. Swami Jaya Devi taught of the importance of owning and embracing all of life - our circumstances, choices and experiences; both our highs and our lows - as our path. The meetings are intended to support us as we work to honor all of our life as our path and use it all as fuel for our spiritual growth.

After a brief opening meditation, each group gathering will begin with an opportunity for each member to share, without ‘cross-talk’, whatever feels particularly present for them in the process of their spiritual growth or the integration of their spiritual work into their life, as a whole. Once everyone has had a chance to share, the remaining time will allow for a more interactive experience. We will close the space with another brief meditation.

The monthly gatherings are facilitated by a long-time resident and monk in our Kashi lineage, who will help hold a safe container for participants’ experiences and may share from teachings they’ve been fortunate to have received along their own path thus far.

A Journey into Sound: An Immersive Sound Bath Experience

Everything in the universe – every person, animal, plant, from the most microscopic to the largest of bodies – experiences the vibrational energy of sound. Sound has been utilized in various cultures for thousands of years as a tool for healing. Sonic vibration is often referred to as the fundamental creative force in the universe.
 
Journey into sound and engage in a multi-sensory experience that will calm the mind and body and promote healing in your body through sound and vibration.
 
During this two-hour workshop you’ll learn about the therapeutic properties of sound, participate in a Q&A session, journal and experience a 40-minute sound bath with various instruments that will support a deep state of rest and restoration.
