In today’s world, pregnancy can be isolating. You need to stay safe for the health of you & your baby! However, connecting to a community of women is so important.
~
Join our Prenatal group! We start each class by sharing our current joys (& not so happy moments) of pregnancy, as well as our experiences in the ever changing health care system. We then settle into practice with pregnancy specific meditations & kriyas, followed with gentle yoga designed to support the needs of the pregnant body & your sweet, growing baby. Class concludes with deep guided meditation which teaches you to go into deep relaxation, the kind you will use when you give birth to your baby. This class is taught virtually, all in the safety & comfort of your home!

Yoga helps alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy: nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain, & sciatica. This class includes a mixture of balancing, strengthening & stretching poses that are appropriate during pregnancy, emphasizing breathing & relaxation.

Vinyasa - Sanctuary Pod Virtual

To provide a safe sanctuary to practice yoga together, we have watched nature’s example, & designed MYC Practice Pods to help us all continue to thrive. You get yoga when you want it, how you want, & with whom you feel most comfortable!

 

Sanctuary Pods are part yoga class, part private lesson. In a month-long series, or a four-week increment, a group of five students practice together with a teacher. As a pod member, you will receive guided sequencing & specialized instruction in your teacher's practice style, helping students to build a consistent asana practice & a lasting connection with teacher, as well as other students, on & off the mat!

Your Pod is FULLY customizable. You can choose your pod by gathering four of your friends that you feel comfortable to meet with and who are interested in committing to the pod series together. Or, you can let MYC place you in a small group with four other students ready to commit to a regularly scheduled class. In a time when building new connections and friendships feels near impossible from a social distance, this option brings you new Pod Friends to support each other through yoga.

 

Why a Pod? MYC Practice Pods limit the total contact numbers in classes to help us ensure your safety and a hygienic environment and maintain a regular schedule for our teachers. Our Teachers need our support! With Practice Pods, teachers can keep steady work when students are able to take their classes & can tailor classes to their pods. They thrive by helping & inspiring students & designing creative practices to explore the body and mind.

Nourishing Yoga with PJ - Sanctuary Pod *in person*

PJ is a registered nurse with 30+ years of experience in cardiac and transplantation. She discovered yoga over 16 years ago and earned her RYT 200 certification in 2017 while living in Chicago. She moved to the Madison area in 2018 and is loving life here!

PJ is a lifelong learner and over the years she has taken multiple cooking and nutrition courses along with additional yoga courses to enhance her own practice which includes; restorative, trauma, and Accessible Yoga.

Practicing yoga has so many benefits for every-body, no matter what age, stage, or shape we have been blessed with. Props and pose modifications will be included during each session to allow support when and where it is needed.

Please join me as we nourish our body, mind, and spirit.

The 60-minute Sessions Include

  • gentle movement 30-minutes
  • Savasana (rest time/mediation) 10-15-minutes savasana (equally as important as movement)
  • Powwow teaching session 15-minutes

Week 1 Yoga – Cold, Flu, Covid Season

  • Yoga- gentle movements to rev up the lymph circulation and boost the immune system
  •  
  • Guided meditation – ease the mind, reduce stress
  • Powwow – Nature’s apothecary: Learn about plants /herbs that nourish the entire body and some simple home recipes to help ward off germs
  •  

Week 2 Yoga - Destress During the Upcoming Holiday Season

  • Yoga- gentle movements to enhance the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest mode)

  • Guided Meditation
  • Powwow – Stress Reducing Strategies: Improving sleep, practicing mindfulness
  •  

Week 3 Yoga - Gratitude and Happiness

  • Yoga- shake your chakras with fun poses and music
  •  
  • Mediate (self) with a smile
  • Powwow - The power of gratitude journaling (journals will be provided)
  •  

Week 4 Yoga – Cognitive Health

  • Yoga- gentle movements crossing the midline to build the right and left side of our brain
  •  
  • Meditation
  • Powwow - Nutritious foods, spices, and herbs that powers the brain
