We will gather for the new moon to set our intentions for the upcoming moon cycle and partake in a healing ritual with Katie. Katie has been living in Ecuador for 5 years, learning from traditional healers or shamans. She has helped run retreats working with plant medicines such as San Pedro and Ayahuasca, and has been learning how to hold ceremonies, give limpias, or energetic cleansings, work with herbal medicines and more to promote spiritual, mental and physical healing. In this ritual, Katie will incorporate some elements from ceremonies such singing icaros, or healing songs given to her from teachers and the plants directly, drumming and other instruments, and prayer, to connect us with our friendly spirits, to help harmonize the body/mind/spirit and have lightness and clarity moving forward in our lives.

In this 4-week series, we will meet once a week to explore the Ashtanga Yoga asana method. Ashtanga is a traditional method of vinyasa that synchronizes movement & posture with the rhythm of the breath. It is a set sequence of poses intentionally organized to progress the student deeper into their body, mind, & inner self to achieve eventual total self transformation.
In this series, we will:
- Learn the history & lineage of Ashtanga into the present day
- Learn the opening & closing mantras
- Learn how to use bandhas & pranayama to strengthen your practice
- Practice the Ashtanga Yoga & Mysore (self practice) Method!
By the end of this series you will feel confident in any of our ashtanga classes, & be prepared to begin Mysore practice!
