This 5-week introductory course is designed for those new to yoga or those looking to revisit the foundations of this ancient practice. Over the course, you will explore the fundamental principles of yoga, including breathing techniques, alignment, and basic postures. Each class will focus on building strength, flexibility, and mindfulness in a supportive and non-intimidating environment. You will learn how to safely and effectively practice yoga, develop a deeper awareness of your body, and leave each session feeling refreshed and balanced.

Week 1: Introduction to Yoga and Breathwork
- Overview of yoga and its benefits
- Learn foundational breathing techniques (pranayama)
- Introduction to gentle warm-up poses

Week 2: Building Strength and Stability
- Focus on developing core strength
- Introduction to basic yoga poses such as Mountain, Downward Dog, and Warrior
- Emphasis on proper alignment to avoid injury

- Deepen your understanding of flexibility and how to safely increase range of motion
- Introduction to balance poses such as Tree Pose and Chair Pose
- Guided flow to connect breath with movement

- Learn restorative postures to release tension and promote relaxation
- Practice guided meditation and mindfulness techniques
- Use of props to support poses

Week 5: Putting it All Together
- Combine the techniques learned throughout the course into a gentle flow

- Discussion on continuing your yoga practice beyond the course

In this workshop, attendees will be led to find sensations in
long-held yoga postures
designed to release energy blockages in the body. While in the
posture, Thai Yoga
Massage techniques will be applied to help the students deepen into
what they feel and help further release these blockages. The
practice will end with a deep dive into
absolute stillness with a guided yoga nidra meditation.
