2024 30-Hour Continuing Education Module 3

Offered by nonprofit, OG Yoga this 30-hour Continuing Education course on Overcoming Trauma Through Yoga is composed of 5 modules which can be taken in any order. This is Module 2. Asana will focus on Yin practice for the Liver and Gallbladder. Anatomy will focus on the Pelvis Potential and Unlocking the Power of the Spine. Trauma Practicum will provide instruction on how to empower students to reclaim their bodies with yoga techniques that can intervene in the complex process of trauma. The course will take place during the last three consecutive weekends in October 2023, Saturdays and Sundays, from 12pm to 5pm. OG Yoga is located in the Historic Church in Normal Heights at the corner of 33rd St. and Meade Ave. Directions to be provided.

Practice: The Key Themes and Domains of Trauma- and Diversity-Sensitive Yoga

Practice: Yin Yoga Sequences of the Spleen and Stomach

Practice: The Belly Brain - The Third Chakra, the Hidden Power

Practice: Yoga for Specialty Populations

Practice: Reclaiming the Body and Developing Tolerance for Sensation

Practice: Self-Regulation and Self-Inquiry

OG Yoga Model

OG Yoga sends Yoga Alliance certified instructors with at least 200 hours of teaching experience out to need-based communities, for youth, seniors and adults facing disability/disease, homelessness/poverty, abuse, addiction, incarceration and re-entry. We have served more than 10,000 individuals from 5 to 85 years young through 50 community partnerships and correctional facilities. OG Yoga operates an altruistic yoga studio. We have graduated over 130 Yoga Teachers since 2018.

This Workshop

Overcoming Trauma through Yoga Yoga Alliance registered Continuing Education is designed for Yoga Instructors who wish to offer trauma and diversity informed care. This third module is open to certified instructors and meets the required 30 hours of continuing education by Yoga Alliance. Our Continuing Education is also open to service providers and educators.

Investment

This course is specially priced because we wish to increase the capacity of yoga instructors and educators, and service providerst hat can bring trauma-informed yoga throughout San Diego to influence healing, self-development, resiliency and positive social change. Maximum capacity is up to 12 instructors for the course.
