Join us for an immersive beginner-friendly art course that focuses on drawing in the academic style, where you'll learn the foundational skills of drawing realistically using graphite. Creating a realistic drawing is an important artistic ability because it is visible proof that the artist has control, focus, and can persevere until an artwork is proportionally and tonally accurate with necessary details and textures. Pencil is the medium of choice because it showcases your skills without any “fluff” or distractions; it's why many colleges ask specifically for pencil drawings, and why art schools throughout the centuries have had their students use graphite for their artistic training.
You do not need drawing experience in order to join, although you may be more comfortable knowing the basics which is taught in the Essential Drawing Course.
