Yoga Nidra (pronounced yo-guh nee-druh) is a deeply restorative practice often called “yogic sleep.” It’s a guided meditation technique that takes you into a state between waking and sleeping — a place where your body rests completely, but your mind remains aware.
In essence, Yoga Nidra is meditation made effortless — you simply lie down and listen, allowing the practice to guide you into calm awareness and self-restoration.
This is a donation- based class raising funds for community member Erica Marsden. Erica has a rare and incurable autoimmune neuromuscular disorder called Dermatomyositis, which is a disorder of the body’s connective tissues. These diseases cause her to experience weakness in the arms, legs, shoulders and hips. As a result, she struggles to complete daily tasks such as walking, climbing stairs, opening things, climbing in and out of the shower, grocery shopping, etc. and requires mobility devices. Her disability is “dynamic”, which means the severity of her condition can vary, and living life has become very unpredictable. The funds from this event will help her to purchase the necessary items to make her home safer and more accessible.
