Join Daniel Stewart for a deep and playful journey beyond the
physical poses into the rich tapestry of the philosophy and
practical science of Raja Yoga.
Most of us come to Yoga because we love the embodied practice of
asana. However, asana is actually only a portion of the whole of
Yoga. In its entirety, Yoga is a science of the mind designed to
reduce suffering through mindful awareness and increased
consciousness. Yoga’s final expression is meditation and
oneness.
In this workshop, we will embark on the same yogic journey of
self-exploration and realization as the one taken by the original
yogic seekers.
Through discussion and experimental exercises, together will
explore the vast wisdom of the Yoga Sutras, their meaning and the
impact on our lives as contemporary Yogis (Humans :) We’ll ask the
fundamental existential questions the early Yogis asked:
Who am I? Why do I suffer? Why do I sometimes act against my own
wishes and best nature? How can I best align with my highest self
in action and intention? How can I live joyfully, freely, and
thrive? Where can I find the perfect four shot cappuccino?
What is extraordinary about Yoga is that it actually presents
answers to these questions. In our process we’ll explore yoga's
real-life tools for understanding and improving our relationship to
ourselves, to those around us, and to the entire natural world,
which we so often feel separate from — though we are not.
