Philosophy Foundations: Rooted Wisdom for Modern Teachers
Step beyond the mat and into the rich, timeless wisdom that underpins the practice of yoga. Philosophy Foundations is a continuing education course designed specifically for yoga teachers who want to deepen their understanding of yoga’s origins, purpose, and evolution—while learning how to authentically weave this wisdom into their teaching.
Over this immersive experience, we’ll explore:
- The four yogic paths—Bhakti (devotion), Jnana (wisdom), Karma (action), and Raja (meditation)—and how they show up in modern practice
- A deep dive into the Eight-Limbed Path of Patanjali, exploring each limb as a guide to both personal practice and ethical teaching
- Essential yogic texts including the Vedas, Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Yoga Sutras—with a focus on practical, real-life application
- A clear and respectful overview of yogic history and its cultural context, helping you understand yoga’s roots and evolution through time
- Daily meditation and self-inquiry practices to help you embody what you’re learning—not just teach it
You’ll leave with:
- Tools to speak confidently about yogic philosophy in class without sounding performative or preachy
- A stronger sense of your own dharma (purpose) as a teacher
- A deeper relationship with meditation and inner stillness
- Greater clarity about how to honor yoga’s roots while making your teaching inclusive, relevant, and grounded in truth
Whether you’re a newer teacher or a seasoned guide, this course offers a meaningful way to return to the essence of yoga—with humility, curiosity, and heart.
Let’s return to the roots—so you can grow something real.

The Subtle Body & Energetic Effect 101: Energetic Awareness for Embodied Teaching
Beyond muscle and bone, asana and breath, lies the subtle terrain of yoga—the energetic architecture that informs how we feel, heal, and connect. This continuing education course is an immersive exploration into the subtle body, offering yoga teachers a deeper understanding of energy anatomy and its profound influence on practice and teaching.
In this training, we’ll explore:
- The definition of Prana as the vital life force—and how it flows through and around us
- The subtle body systems: Chakras, Nadis, and the five Vayus (the directional “winds” of energy)
- The Gunas—the three fundamental qualities of nature—and how they shape mood, motivation, and movement
- The Koshas, or layers of the self, as a framework for embodied awareness and holistic cueing
- Practices that support energetic balance—including breathwork, visualization, subtle movement, and meditation
This course bridges ancient wisdom with modern understanding, helping you:
- Recognize energetic imbalances in yourself and your students
- Teach with greater nuance, intuition, and presence
- Layer energetic awareness into your sequencing, theming, and holding of space
- Connect more deeply with your own internal landscape, both on and off the mat
Whether you’re already drawn to the energetic aspects of yoga or you’re new to the subtle body conversation, this course offers accessible, grounded guidance for integrating it all with care and confidence.
