Loving Kindness Meditation Series with Chris Lee-Thompson Virtual
Apr 21, 2026 - May 19, 2026

Loving Kindness Meditation

A 5-week series with Source Community Member Chris Lee-Thompson

Loving-kindness (or Metta) is an ancient meditation first taught by the Buddha more than 2600 years ago. It is now practiced by Buddhists, people of different faiths, and people of no faith whatsoever. Loving-kindness sends wishes for safety, health and happiness to all beings, beginning with oneself. It can be done by anyone, including children, and has many benefits, including fostering positive connections, building resilience, and lowering anxiety.

Each session will begin with a guided loving-kindness meditation. Then, we will focus on a different step in the meditation: ourselves, a beloved person, a neutral person, a difficult person, and then all beings everywhere. As a focus for discussion, we will use various resources: “St. Francis and the Sow,” by Galway Kinnel; “Be Cool to the Pizza Dude,” by Sarah Adams; “Another Reason Why I Don’t Keep a Gun in the House,” by Billy Collins; and the Metta Sutra, the original teaching on loving-kindness by the Buddha. Finally, as time allows, we will finish with another, shorter meditation.

This series will be held online only and preregistration is required. 5:30-7pm PST

Chris Lee-Thompson (N. Dawa Norbu) is an ordained Buddhist who has practiced and taught Loving-kindness meditation for many years. Chris has also completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Eugene Yoga and has been a student at Source Yoga since 2021. Along with his wife, Sylvia, he is the author of the children’s book, “A Day of Loving-kindness.”

Restorative Thai Yoga with Jeni Martinez and Sandi Koch
May 3, 2026 - May 3, 2026

Stress is a normal part of being a modern-day human but how we manage stress can make the difference between feeling overwhelmed and depleted or negotiating it with ease.

In 2016, Jeni and Sandi discovered that the combination of relaxing restorative yoga postures and gentle Thai massage adjustments could be a powerful antidote for managing stress and inviting deep rest into tired bodies. Since then, they have been offering this workshop in yoga studios, on retreats and at yoga conferences.

Sandi is a yoga teacher, occupational therapist and a Thai Yoga Massage therapist. Jeni brings the experience of 35 years of teaching yoga. They invite you to unwind, relax and de-stress during this two-hour workshop.

Deep Resonance: Restorative Sound Meditation with Andrea Steele
May 29, 2026 - May 29, 2026

Deep Resonance: Restorative Sound Meditation

Deep Resonance is an invitation to slow down, soften, and listen through the body.

We’ll begin with simple, mindful movement. This will be an opportunity to release tension and support your nervous system in settling. There’s nothing to get right here. Just a chance to listen inward and move in ways that feel supportive and natural to you.

From there, you’ll be guided into a sound meditation with instruments such as a gong, singing bowls, and chimes. As the sounds wash over you, you’re invited to rest and simply notice your internal experience. What sensations arise? What emotions or thoughts move through? The vibrations can help soothe the nervous system and open space for a deeper connection within.

After the sound journey, we’ll transition into a body mapping practice which is a quiet, creative space to reflect on and express your experience. This is a way to listen a little more closely, to give shape to what was felt, and to support integration in a way that is personal and meaningful. You're always welcome to skip this part, and just soak in the felt experience.

We’ll close our time together with tea and optional sharing in community. You’re welcome to share or simply listen, both will be honored here. This is a space to connect, reflect, and be gently witnessed.

You’ll leave feeling grounded, restored, and more connected to yourself.

All are welcome, come just as you are. No experience is needed.
