Join us for 4 weeks of Jazz fundamentals! Learn the foundations of Jazz dance, gain confidence in your movement, and have a great workout. This class will dive into the basics of Jazz technique - from upper body postions, to across the floor progressions, this class is designed for true beginners with little to no dance experience. Feel free to bring a note-taking device and all of your questions!

Attire for class: Bare feet, socks, or jazz shoes - and whatever clothing you feel best dancing in!

 

We are thrilled to announce our inaugural HIVE SUMMER SHOWCASE! This project has been a longtime goal for the HIVE Team - read on to learn more about this exciting performance opportunity!

The HIVE Summer Showcase is a perfect opportunity for you to put your dancing skills onstage in a fun, low-stress environment. We will be spending Saturdays in June and July learning choreography from 8 different styles of dance, culminating in a live performance at North Center Stage on Damen and Lincoln Ave. on JULY 26th! Below you will find information regarding the styles offered and rehearsal times. All rehearsals will occur on Saturdays from 1:30pm - 3:30pm.

• Cleaning & Tech Rehearsal - All dances present to rehearse - 2:00-4:00pm (Stage time begins at 2:30pm)

July 26

• Optional 30min warm-up at HIVE 1:30pm

• Performance at North Center Stage - 2:00pm - 5:00pm - SHOW AT 3:00PM

• $350.00

• You have the option to purchase in full, or opt for a payment plan.

• 50% Deposit due at time of purchase to guarantee in showcase

• 2nd Payment due 30 days following initial purchase

 

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

• Over 15 hours of dancing/rehearsal time

• All rehearsals will film and distribute the dances so you can practice at home as needed.

ABSENCES/ILLNESS:

• We know Summer is a busy time for many folks with travel etc. - we ask that for participation in this showcase you’re able to attend both the Tech Rehearsal (7/19) and Performance date (7/26).

• All other rehearsals please do your best to be available, but if you need to miss a weekend or two due to weddings/travel/etc we can send video from rehearsals for reference.

 

As mentioned above, your purchase allows you to participate in all 8 dances - once you make your deposit, please fill out the attached Google form in your payment receipt to confirm which dance(s) you’d like to attend rehearsals for.
