Now Online! This two-hour, hands-on class allows your husband, partner or friend to learn how to be actively involved in easing the discomforts of pregnancy and birthing. Birth partner massage covers relevant anatomy, contraindications, techniques for relief of common pregnancy muscular discomforts, and massage ergonomics. You'll also learn great pain relief techniques for labor, where and when to use them, and many other comfort measures.
For the online class, set up three spaces: an open wall with space 4-6 feet of open space in front of it, a hard-backed kitchen chair and space behind it to stand or kneel, and the side of a bed with room to stand or kneel beside. If you have two tennis balls and a tube sock, or Yoga TuneUp balls, have them handy.
