ABYS Body Lab: Volunteer Movement Session
You’re invited to participate as a volunteer in an Alignment-Based Yoga Specialist (ABYS) Body Lab, a hands-on learning experience for advanced yoga trainees focused on understanding real bodies in real movement.
During this session, you’ll be guided through simple movements and postures while ABYS trainees observe your movement patterns, alignment tendencies, and functional habits. With the support and supervision of senior faculty, trainees will then offer thoughtful, individualized recommendations tailored to your personal movement goals—whether that’s improving comfort, strength, mobility, or ease in your practice and daily life.
This is not a performance or assessment of “doing it right.” Bodies of all ages, sizes, abilities, and experience levels are welcome. The environment is supportive, respectful, and education-focused, with the goal of deepening understanding and care.
What to expect:
-
Gentle movement and observation
-
Personalized insights and alignment-based suggestions
-
A collaborative, consent-based learning space
-
The opportunity to support the next generation of skilled, body-aware yoga teachers
By volunteering, you’re not only receiving valuable feedback—you’re directly contributing to the education of yoga professionals committed to safe, adaptive, and inclusive movement practices.
If you’re curious about how your body moves and enjoy being part of a learning community, we’d love to have you join us.
Join us on a transformative journey of healing and deep relaxation, as we bathe every cell of the body in therapeutic sound and vibration. This healing and transformative journey through sound will leave you feeling tuned, refreshed and connected with your intuitive personal power.
The gong acoustically elevates us, creating a deep spontaneous meditative state that restores harmony and vitality to the mind, body and soul.
The 90-minute event includes a brief discussion on the healing attributes of the gong, a 62-minute Gong Meditation, followed by sweets and community.
The Gong Meditation is best experienced lying down on your back or a similar comfortable position. Wear comfortable clothes and bring whatever you need to be relaxed for the meditation - yoga mat, blanket, pillow, water, eye mask, etc.
