This 75 min class series will introduce you to the methodology of SomaYoga, a very gentle and accessible practice. Expect postures and movement that are slower and “lower load” allowing us to identify and release patterns of tension. Move toward comfortable postures and engage with philosophical yogic concepts to find ease in mind and body. Attend live online or recordings will be made available to those that cannot attend live.
SomaYoga can be beneficial to people who have chronic pain or find it harder to move like they used to or who are feeling stuck. No need to have any yoga experience, just a sense of curiosity and willingness to learn. Our aim is toward finding sustained relaxation of muscles. Classes will be offered from a seated posture, standing and/or supported with props on the floor, a chair or near a wall.
Learn about SomaYoga - a blend of Somatics, Therapeutic Yoga & Hatha Yoga. This unique blend of practices has the potential to free us from chronic pain, as well as improve physical functioning, mobility, stability and strength. In this class, we focus on slow, mindful movements that increase awareness of the whole body and improve function in all muscles and joints.
