Shiatsu literally means finger pressure in Japanese. It supports the body to restore its energetic system using acupoints, stretching and joint mobilisation. During a Shiatsu session the practitioner works with the rythmn of the receiver’s breathing, applying pressure on the outbreath and releasing on the in-breath. Some of the work is dynamic, like stretching and some work is stiller and more holding in nature. It works on many levels: physical, emotional & mental. It can be experienced as a meditation on the body. It is normally received fully clothed on a futon on the floor.
This is an opportunity for you to find out more about Shiatsu and meet Nicola, who will give short Shiatsu demonstrations and will answer any questions about Shiatsu.
