Advanced Fusion Belly Dance: Choreography & Stage Presence

This class is an 8-week series for $100, open to all ages.

This Advanced Belly Dance class is recommended for students who have at least one year of experience in Belly Dance. In this class we expand on techniques learned in the Beginner and Intermediate level classes. The class is focused on learning choreography and developing stage presence while continuing working on drills and conditioning for a healthy dance practice.

$100 for the 8 week series.

Chakra Fridays

Join Paisley Parvati Devi for this special class on select Fridays throughout the year!

We will focus on one Chakra per class and explore asanas (poses), pranayama (breathwork), meditation, mudras (hand gestures), and mantra (sound) to balance each energy center. Classes are from 4 - 5:30pm at The Yoga Place.

This class is a great way to learn more about each of your Seven Energy Centers:

March 14th - Root Chakra

April 11th - Sacral Chakra

June 13th - Solar Plexus Chakra

July 11th - Heart Chakra

August 15th - Throat Chakra

September 12th - Crown Chakra **Note: This session will exceptionally be held from 3-4:30pm at Yoga Central.**

October 10th - Third Eye Chakra

November 14th - All Seven Chakras

$11 per class, or attend all eight classes for $77.

Free for YTT students as an optional part of the YTT curriculum.

Indian Take-Away Lunch

Shashi Gupta is preparing a special vegetarian to-go lunch which will be available between 11:30 and 1:30 at Yoga Central on July 12.

Shashi has done cooking programs at Yoga Central before and also was the featured chef in one of our Vegetarian Supper Club evenings The proceeds go to support Yoga Central's mission and programs. The full meal is $20.

Chick peas with spinach, rice pilav, 1 bhatura and mango lassi, July 12, around noon, $20.

Please pay several days ahead.

These foods are healthy and easy to digest. Bhatura is a type of fried bread. Mango Lassi is a very poular refreshing cold drink made from mangos and yogurt. It is rich in calcium, and we will cut back on the sugar.

You. are welcome to bring your own container(s), if you want.

Therapeutic Yoga Wall Class

With the assistance of the yoga wall straps, slings, bars and harnesses we will be doing poses that are known to many, but the familiar postures are experienced in a decidedly different way with the yoga wall. Often, with the help of the yoga wall, poses can be held longer and the shape of your familiar pose will often be different. It is very illuminating and balancing to experience this approach to the yoga āsanas. The level of difficulty is not great, but this is a class for people with some yoga experience.

Arm Balance Workshop

You're probably stronger than you think! Arm Balance poses definitely involve the core and shoulders, but the key to most of them is actually balance - imagine that!

Come learn safe methods of entry and exit for a range of Yoga arm balances from beginning to advanced. It is best to stretch and warm up before this class, since we will only have an hour together. We will at least warm up the wrists and shoulders a bit before attempting more challenging poses. We will also learn some conditioning sequences to strengthen the muscles used for most arm balancing.

You will be invited to listen to your body and intuition during this class. If there is anything you are not comfortable trying, you are welcome to simply watch instead.

$25 per person. Free for YTT students.
