The Vishuddhi Chakra is located in the vicinity of the Larynx – and is therefore also known as the Throat Chakra. It is a center of physical and spiritual purification.
The Vishuddhi Chakra is a place of purification and balancing. The breath that flows through the throat, and therefore through this Chakra, plays a big role in this. Through the power of the breath (Prāna Shakti) in the Vishuddhi Chakra harmful residues are removed from the body on a physical level, and in the mental sphere the thoughts emotions, consciousness and subconscious are purified and harmonised.
The Vishuddhi Chakra is also connected to speech. Until we are not capable of controlling the rising emotions in the throat, which means in the Vishuddhi Chakra, we either swallow or spit out words creating harm to ourselves and others. There are various Yoga exercises and purification techniques on the vishuddhi Chakra to cope with this, to quite the thoughts and emotions and bring them into harmony.
“The truth should always be spoken with love and not with ‘knives’, because physical wounds that are caused by a knife heal again, whereas those caused by words are very difficult to heal and often remain lifelong (in the subconscious).” as Mahaprabhji, our Grand Master said.
