"SURF ESTEEM" ~ Creative Mindfulness in Motion Mini Retreat

Join us for a mini retreat - a journey to help you get out of a rut, find your groove and transform your energy.

This little weekend “Surf-scape” will be infused with ‘Creative Mindfulness in Motion” An enriching opportunity to practice ‘Devotion’ in a creative way towards filling your ‘Self Worth’ cup with some ‘Surf - Esteem’ .

You do not have to be at any particular level of Yoga and there are alternative options for some of our adventure activities like 'Surfing'. This is a 'Mini Retreat' weekend so there will be a balance between community connection & free time for introspection, enjoying nature or some of our optional extras like massage + more

 

WHAT'S INCLUDED :

YOGA - MINDFULNESS - DANCE - ADVENTURE

Daily Meditation

Yoga Speciality Classes each will be a different style and theme to help fill our cup of 'Self Esteem'

Including a balance of both Fluid & Yin styles. Yoga Nidra (yogic deep rest) & Yoga Therapeutics.

Creative Mindfulness Coaching threaded throguout a variety of 'Yoga+Mindfulness sessions on and off the Yoga Mat to help you doubt your doubts, find your own flow and connect to joy.

Daily Brunch & Ayurvedic High Tea

'Surf-Esteem' activities in water and on land to offer you a helping hand to live love and play with your whole heart - weather it's making space for new starts or remembering how capable you really are . 2 Surf Lessons (or an alternative) + 2 other inside group activites to give your inner confidence a spark.

Optional Extras such as Massage & 1:1 Self Care or Creating Confidence Sessions (multi-modalties) - ask us about our

Work of H-Art sessions (utilising various forms of art including photography sessions to lift the heart!) - we will send out a menu of our options as part of your post booking information

There will be time + S P A C E for re-energising & deep yogic rest and learning about yourself through connecting with others and nature and using music + many ways to move as metaphors for life.

Come and experience a profound state of relaxation with our ACU-YIN YOGA 90 minute FEATURE CLASS with Laura

ACU-YIN YOGA combines the ancient wisdom of yoga (yin) and acupuncture (pins) or acupressure (using similar key points without pins if you prefer) providing a deeply restful and healing experience.

 

Indulge in a floor based practice suitable for all abilities where you are guided into postures that are held for 3 to 5 minutes. The longer holds allow your muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia to gently lengthen and slowly release. It is not completely passive, it is a journey within to find just the right amount of ease (Yin) and just the right amount of effort (Yang). Props are used throughout the class for extra support.

 

The acupuncture points are selected to align with the theme of the class and the small accupuncture pins are inserted to these points in your final resting pose (pins are optional) Combining these two powerhouse healing practices can support a more profound level of relaxation, balance and well-being. About your facilitator:

Laura is the founder of Nautilus Acupuncture. As an Acupuncturist, Emergency Nurse and Yoga teacher she blends her deep passion for Eastern medical practices with her knowledge and experience of Western Medicine.

She was naturally drawn to Yin Yoga after moving to the Sunshine Coast 6years ago and has completed 150 additional hours of Yin training. The practice and philosophy of Yoga is deeply intertwined into her clinical work, community education and life as a busy mum.

Many find sitting still to meditate challenging for many reasons

This course has been a favourite for many students , teachers and Yoga or Meditation Practitioners due to its uniqueness , creativity , depth and yet delivered in a way that gives you a feeling of simplicity space and joy. You will be introduced to several Mudras for Mindfulness ('Think of Mudras as Yoga in your Hands') Gestures that regardless of the lineage has the ultimate goal of bringing forth 'delight' or joy.

Common barriers to Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga is the myth that you have to stop your thoughts , clear your mind and sit perfectly still. This course is for both Yoga / Meditation Students , Teachers and those new wanting to learn , practice, teach or rekindle that spark of inspiration for their practice.

Yoga is an inside job which means it is the quality of mind you are holding whilst doing anything at all. Through choosing specific hand gestures (Mudras) to strengthen the Pillars of Mindfulness such as self trust, patience, acceptance, letting go (to name a few) we can enhance the quality of our life and the quality of our 'Yoga' on and off the Yoga Mat.

The other barrier to Yoga is the idea that you have to be flexible or believing due to physical limitations Yoga is not accessible. This course will introduce you to a Full Mindful Chair Yoga Class that can be adapted in many ways.

You will learn how to use the Chair as a prop to advance poses and also make Yoga more accessible.

The need for Chair Yoga is growing and it's application is endless.

The need for Mindfulness & Meditation is also endless (especially post pandemic)

Moving your body, using your breath is essential to health and wellbeing.

Learning how to navigate the mind is essential for the quality of your life.
