As we move through late summer, the Earth element encourages us
to find our balanced,
grounded, center of gravity in life. It’s the season of harvest,
and with that an invitation to
nourish and care for ourselves with the bounty of the year thus
far. In Traditional Chinese
Medicine (TCM), Earth is associated with the Stomach and Spleen
meridians, and is thought to
be a stable anchor for all of the other elements, and for our mind,
body, and spirit, overall.
This Yin Yoga workshop is part of a series exploring the Five
Elements of TCM through the lens
of the meridian system. These workshops are part education, part
embodied practice. You'll
learn the location and function of the meridians, explore how
seasonal shifts affect the body and
mind, and use tools like guasha scraping to deepen awareness and
connection.
This workshop includes:
- 90-minute yin yoga practice focused on the Earth element
meridians
- Guided guasha scraping along the meridian pathways
- Introduction to Late Summer/Transitional seasonal wisdom &
heart/small intestine channels
- Take-home guasha tool with instructions for use
Come ready to celebrate the abundance of summer and nourish
yourself.
No experience is necessary. All props are provided. You're welcome
to bring a journal or your own cosy items for extra comfort.
