I joined Bodyrock Bootcamp when I moved to Philadelphia in late 2022. I wanted to build good habits but planning my workouts felt like planning my own torture. I was looking for a place that I could show up, give my all in a class, and find community . I picked this gym because it was easy for me to get to with consistent and flexible training hours and I got so lucky to find this gem.
Nate (owner/trainer) is excellent. He is a knowledgeable and encouraging trainer who works closely with his students to meet their goals. Goals along the lines of becoming stronger or increasing flexibility, mobility, or endurance are highly encouraged. When I started, I was coming off an injury and hadn’t worked out in over a year. I have been consistently attending 3 sessions a week for the last 3 years and am fitter and stronger for it. A large part of my successful consistency is the flexibility offered. There is a wide range of times available along with a remote video class option and occasional preplanned workouts. These options have made it possible for me to attend classes even when I am out of town.
Nate will push you to do your best. The classes and exercises are difficult. He wasn't joking in the bootcamp part of the name. However, all the exercises are adjustable for any skill, mobility, injury, or strength level. I injured my spine as a teenager and can have mild to debilitating nerve pain. Whenever my back is aggravated, my workouts are modified to include stretching in every exercise. Being able to stay active and strengthening my back muscles has been a major part of preventing flare ups. I can't tell you how many times I have heard Nate shout “challenge by choice.” It is all about building on what you can do and I haven't had a better trainer.

Had a bit of a limitation (right shoulder got questionable the evening before), but Kendrell worked around it with different exercises. A kick-ass workout (literally). Back for more this coming week!

Couldn't catch my breath for 40 minutes, only was able to lift my arms to type this review today. Loved it!
Nate is great: I have a few lifestyle-related physical limitations, and he was able to work with me around those to get the best results.
11/10, can't wait to do it again!
