If I could vote 6 stars, I would! At Axé Capoeira you have the opportunity to get fully immersed in so many aspects of Brazilian culture which are such an important part of capoeira yet often overlooked. I can’t recommend this academy enough. Aside from training capoeira, I’ve picked up percussion, dance, and even a little portuguese!

Capoeira really pushes you in ways you haven’t been pushed before. Contramestre Bambu is special and has a real gift for teaching the art!

My son (9) goes to in-person kids class. He really enjoys the class and the workout is great for him.

I really enjoyed my virtual session with the instructor! All of the participants were friendly and well-skilled. Contra was also very amicable and helped me learn a lot as a total newbie. I now feel much more comfortable with my beginning stance and will improve my kicks, thanks to the thorough feedback. I will definitely be dedicating more time to this exciting art!!

Contra Mestre Bambu is very knowledgeable and passionate!  He has in depth knowledge of Capoeira, Portuguese, Brazilian music, and musical instruments!  He is an excellent teacher, and the academy is a supportive place with great atmosphere!
