I have been coming to Simply Yoga for only 1 month and it has changed my life. I was going to the chiropractor 2-3 times a week and getting deep tissue massages 3-4 times a month. Expensive! And I stayed in constant pain due to my career. Since I have been doing yoga, my neck and shoulder feel much better and I actually enjoy running and working out. It also relaxes my mind and body. I highly recommend!
Carrie Huberty, RYT 230: I have been living in NC for almost 20 years now, with an amazing husband and beautiful fur-babies. Besides yoga and meditation, I enjoy exploring new places, kayaking, dancing, singing, family time, being outdoors and with nature/animals, creating with essential oils/aromatherapy and herbs, and learning more about nutrition/wellness. I love to learn new things, especially related to alternative/natural methods of healing and energy.
I first began my journey with yoga in 1996, when a co-worker gave me a yoga video taught by Erich Schiffmann. I continued to turn to this practice time and again over the years, especially when feeling overwhelmed by life. While in my 20's, I experienced several stressful life events that challenged me to begin searching for deeper methods of healing, health and well-being. There was an inner “knowing” that I needed to make changes in my life in order to be truly happy, healthy and fulfilled. Feeling the need for a deeper understanding of how yoga heals and supports all levels of the mind, body and spirit, I signed up for an intensive yoga teacher training, and received my Yoga Alliance Teaching Certification in 2010 through Asheville Yoga Center with Stephanie Keach and her staff. I have been teaching yoga in a variety of locations since 2008, and have continued my studies as a lifelong learner, in yoga, mindfulness and meditation, Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine, energy healing/Reiki, and yoga therapy, since that time.
I am currently a yoga therapy practitioner, training with Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, offering client-centered private sessions. This modality brings the body-mind-spirit connection together in order to help create the changes we want to see in our lives. I truly believe that we all have the power to heal ourselves, become “unstuck” from those things that no longer serve us, and that deep within us lives all the answers to our own questions. This powerful work connects us with our body, mind, emotions and spirit through present moment awareness, breath and/or movement. Each session is unique for the individual and can accommodate for all persons, even those who might be brand new to yoga. I am so excited to share this work to help support others on their own journeys, as yoga has supported me on mine!
