Originally from Illinois, Ashley moved to Colorado in 2005 to pursue her dreams of living in the mountains and becoming a whitewater raft guide. Not long after that, she discovered yoga as a way to ease the aches and pains that came with daily rafting and heal a broken heart. She had no idea her first exposure to yoga would change the course of her life. Compelled to learn more about the practice and how to use it as a way to better her body, mental well being and daily life, she traveled to Costa Rica in 2007 where she received her 200hr yoga teacher training certificate from the Nosara Yoga Institute. Upon returning to the states, Ashley began teaching weekly classes, varying from hatha to vinyasa, restorative to power flow. She has since taught hundreds of yoga classes and developed a large, dedicated student following. She is known for creating unique classes, as she holds the space for students to safely tune into their body and mind through breath and conscious movement. She focuses on alignment, sequencing and creativity when teaching her classes. Her intention is that students leave feeling better than when they walked in, from the inside out, physically, mentally and emotionally.
Ashley also traveled to Southeast Asia in 2009 where she studied Thai Yoga Massage in Thailand and worked as a raft guide in Malaysia. In 2013, she went to the renowned Crestone Healing Arts Center in Colorado and completed a 600 hr massage therapy program. She’s worked at numerous spas and clinics and eventually was able to start her own practice. Ready for a change and eager to explore/experience the Pacific Northwest, she moved to Eugene at the end of July 2021. She’s excited to share her work with the beautiful members of this thriving community. When not teaching yoga, Ashley is a full time massage therapist and works at 3 different clinics in town. She uses her knowledge of the body and incorporates all of her training and range of modalities to deliver deep, yet sensitive therapeutic massages. When she’s not teaching yoga or massaging, you can definitely find Ashley hiking with her dog & her best friend, Agnes.
